With all the rain the Ely area has been getting, and appears will continue for the next 4 or 5 days, the Forest Service lifted the fire ban in the BWCA.
There seems to be a Mayfly hatch going on, and many of the walleyes are full of them.
People are still catching them in muddy flats, in 4-5 FOW with bits of night crwlers on light jigs or plain hooks.
Small pike are active, but the larger ones are not.
This will change with warming water temps.
Bass are not on their nests yet (good ridance) ;D
Quite a few people heading out camping this morning because of the long weekend.
