Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but after all, they are deer. Just curious if any members raises deer? We started this year. Right now we have a buck fawn, 5 months old and a doe fawn. She is 10 days old. Still waiting on the next fawn to be born, should be within the next week or so. Anyway, any other deer farmers on here?

You go thru the MN Board of Animal Health. Get an ID number, build your pens, minimum of 96" tall. State inspects your fencing, their are some laws/requirements you need to follow, like yearly vet and state inspections, herd registration. There is a yearly fee to the state of $10 per animal up to $100 max. I started with fawns from a farmer outside Milaca, very reasonable pricing. They don't have the "monster buck" genetics that you see some having, but the buck who fathered our fawns id roughly 140" if I had to guess. He is 2 1/2 years old. We are doing it for fun, not to grow monsters or make $$$.
