Our party had quite the opening weekend. Tim started out with a 178# 20pt buck :dancinred: :dancinred: :dancinred: that I had not seen on camera. Then his son got a nubbin that afternoon.
Sunday the neighbor came over and said they had a deer down in my woods. They got an 8 pt buck and chased a fawn to one of our party. While trying trail this deer, which I dont think was wounded, through a slew two of the guys jumped a buck. It waited till 20 yds then loped to the woods and looked back. Result was a window shot that downed a 200# 8 pt buck. :woot: :woot:
Sunday was quiet till 5 pm when the young guy that has had trouble shooting had a field full of deer to choose from. He ended up taking a 115# doe with a neck shot and a 130# 5 pt buck also with a neck shot. :toast:
With having 5 deer on the rack for 9 hunters I declared that hunting was done for us. We got 4 deer cut up today and have to vacuum pack 2 full deer tomorrow. There was 110 # of scraps after the steaks and chops were taken out.

To each his own in this country but I would be awfully disgruntled if If my season was over because the leader got his deer and wanted to save the rest for his pickins next year.

I am not the leader, just  the property owner, and I did not get a deer. However I did leave the option open that if they wanted to hunt and got a deer they would be responsible for their own processing. With only a couple guys to process this year it would take all week to get it all done. We were thankful that we had a couple guys delay their return to help process on Monday.
