well hunting them can be quiet fun and challenging and is a excellent activity to do when all other hunting seasons are closed......baiting them i dunno if thats legal or not, id double check on that...trapping is another effective way to get rid of them, also very challenging

To my knowledge baiting it legal.  Go to a cattle farmer and ask him if he has any drag death calves.  Depending on what the population density is around you, you shouldn't even need to call. Good luck

Getting ready to give trapping them a shot this year. Way to may out here. Any suggestion? I was going to hunt them and still will try, but they have allot of food here so I'm not sure how calling them will go.

They are unprotected in Minnesota and may even be poisoned if there is no threat to humans or livestock. You can sometimes get them in a large one sided live trap. The ones that are about 20" tall.  An  interesting tidbit of information is that if you have high numbers of fox there are virtually no coyotes and vice versa. They do not live integrated. Don't waste your time on cover in your bait plots. Get out with your bow and call with that many around you shuld score. You can even hunt at night but no artificial lights.

ive been told and heard from the old timers that the only way to effectivly reduce a population of preditors is by trapping. hunting is just not effective.

makes sense, as long as you know what your doing.

Classic.   Your food plot brings in tons of rabbits, which in return, brings in the yotes.   Trapping is best and a blast.   Get some carcasses and pile them up in a really brushy area near by the plot.   Let is sit for a few days.   They will find it fast.   Snare the crap out of the trails leading to and from your bait station.   Boom, dead yotes.
Shoot straight and give'em the shaft!

Would carp work as bait?

I would be interested to do this in the summer when I'm not in school

Nope, legal.   Actually, they opened up snaring even more so this year.   Land snaring now opens with water trapping opener now.

It is even legal to snare wolf in Mn. There are regs on height so deer do not get snared.
