                         Getting Hooked & Unhooked

Last week one day I was feeling pain from my toe area. Having diabetes I sometimes have weird feelings in my toes. Therefore I just thought it was one of those days. I told my wife it was annoying until I made a pivot on my foot and yelled ouch! That was a sharp pain unlike a small discomfort.

I went and sat on the bed and started pull my left sock off and it got stuck at the toe for some reason creating pain. Being a plus size man I couldn't flex enough to see the bottom of my foot. There I sat with a sock just dangling. I called for backup and Borgie arrived. "What's wrong says she?".

"My sock is stuck and if I pull it there's pain says I" So, she looked and saw that a fish hook was in my toe including the barb and the shank eyelet was stuck in the toe of the sock. I couldn't see any of that, being a plus size (full grown) man. At that point I said get me a hand mirror so I could view the area. I tried to explain to her a method to remove the hook but she was to nervous and refused to try it.

I was on my own with limited visibility or flexibility. With her holding the mirror I managed to cut the sock loose with a scissors. I used some nearby fishing line to lasso the curve in the hook. Then I followed the instructions as shown on a video that I learned from years ago.

I'm sure many of you have used this method before but some may not have seen it.

:sorry: for my long boring tale but, that's what reminded me to post this video
Enjoy the following video and remember it well:
