I like it, it gets to the real problems of our country and our congress reps that can be voted out.

The NRA definitely wants to go in the right direction, really like the idea of having an armed security guard.
My only fear out of any of this is that the majority of America is going to be for more gun control, and so many are so misinformed and don't know about types of guns and their capabilities.
I sure hope legislation isn't going to go in the wrong direction.

With gun sales and permit to carry applications skyrocketing the powers that be have to take notice. Yet some still believe spoons made Rosie fat. It is way too costly to implement a police officer in every school as Wayne Lapierre put forth. We probably should but do not need to arm school Marms because if it was common knowledge that the teacher had a tazer at their disposal I believe that would deter nut jobs and just as well keep kids that wanted to disrupt a class or misbehave think twice about acting up in class.

My brother works at MFF and sold 12 guns in 2 hours today. He also sent me this pic.

I was great to the NRA say what they said. For a while I thought they were gonna back peddle, but the stood firm. I think maybe have lock boxes with a few janitors, principals, have access to them and annual proficiencies testing.

that far left is always so quick to cry out that the right doesn't take the time to understand.. yet they toss out condesending labels like homophobe/racist/redneck... but yet here they are judging a group of people they themselves are unfamiliar with and  would most likely be the ones to stop and help them change a tire when they break down on the side of the road.

mechanics don't just have one tool in their tool chest.. just like I don't have one gun.. each of my firearms have a specific purpose and use, just like a mechanics tool chest. i've heard a few people say the right to bear arms was back when muskets were around.. well muskets were the AR of the day.. same firearm the military used. and the men that wrote the bill of rights new that.
With tv shows out there like doomsday preppers where guys are shooting their thumbs off and blowing their ear drums open (true)..  have demonstrated to me.. that some individuals probably shouldn't be able walk out with a firearm from gander mountain.. as many people haven't grown up around firearms. with the antigun people seeing this and all those hillbilly shows no wonder gun enthusiasts are being painted as freaks.
gun safety is a fine starting point for kids(i'm a certified instructor) but maybe we need to take it a step further for those adult newbies that didn't spend hours on end cleaning an M16 just to be told it isn't good enough and to do it again after holding it straight out in front of ya for 5minutes. or had that uncle that offered to tear you a new one if you shot at the livestock.

I would be willing to conceide that much like the conceal and carry classes maybe a proficiency course is needed for those firearms that are considered militaryish. a mental health records check, I don't know how they would do it.. or how it would help if someones snapped ten years after buying a gun.

also the media should appologize to the country for their evil vulturistic behavior in all of this.
If science fiction has taught me anything, it's that you can never have enough guns and ammo when the zombies come back to life... "WS"

Beeper only thing I don't agree with you on is the profecency test just because I don't get the point

I really liked the muske was the same gun the military used analogy defending the second amendment and I also likedwhat kenhuntes said about allowing teachers tazers/conceal and Cary

My school has a police officer and so did my junior high (public schools)
