Hi guys. I introduced myself a while ago when I was considering moving to Minnesota. Anyways, I committed and I'm moving from Phoenix to St. Paul in a few days. Anyways, what is there to hunt the next few months??? It looks like I missed most of the fall seasons! What do you all hunt in Jan, Feb, March?  Coyotes? Small game? Is it too cold to hunt? Where do I head from the twin cities to get to public land?

Forgive my ignorance as I'm used to hunting out West. I have a few trips planned back to Arizona for coues deer and javelina in January, but that won't hold me over! Any info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys!

welcome.

check out the minnesota dnr website. they have very well published hunting maps and plot books for different regions of the state. these maps clearly label what is public hunting land and minnesota has a ton of it.

for the most part most of the hunting is closing up here at the end of december.. predators stay open for a while. but the seasons are shown on the dnr website. most guys are out ice fishing and i'm sure if you asked there would be more then one or two volunteers to take you out on the ice.

good luck.

first of all know that people from MPLS/St PAUL arent allowed to hunt in MN.  :rotflmao: :rotflmao: all kidding aside, Beeker said it. you can hunt cyotes all year if you really want something to hunt. the majority of the public land in MN is up north but you can start with google maps or MN DNR recreation compass to find state lands. if your looking for something closer you can check with county land departments and view a plat book (or buy one). this will show you all the land ownership in that county as it was when it was published. turkey hunting starts up in the spring and if you want to be in the lottery you need to apply soon as it closes the begining of january. if you bow hunt at all look at the regs for bowfishing. its very fun and is as close to hunting as you can get with fish. theres some crow seasons in the summer as well.

here is the link to hunting seasons. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/hunting/seasons.html

Is it too cold to hunt?

I don't understand your question. Is it cold here? :rotflmao:
