How many of you just hook the head of the crawler and leave the second hook hang free?     I usually hook the head dip the crawler in the water.  He usually will stretch out once he hits the water.  I then place the second hook in trying to keep the crawler straight as possible.  I am going to experiment a little more with the free hook method this summer.

I always used both hooks on the harness but always seemed difficult to get that second hook in the right spot. I switched from the crawler harness to slow death rigging last summer and it seemed to improve my hook up percentage.

I  used both hooks on the harness leaving about a inch of the worm hang off the second hook
Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.
