Checked Burntside Lake at 4 pm today, and found 22 inches of fairly solid ice that appears to starting to honeycomb.
8 days ago the thickness was 32 inches, but the top 8-10 inches was very soft and slushy.
I do not see any way the large lakes will be open by the 11th, but hope that it will be good to go by the second weekend (18th)!!!!!
