The lakes in northern Minnesota are finally open.
Fishing has been fairly decent, with nice walleyes and pike being taken on White Iron/Garden/Farm Lake chain.
Frozen Ciscoes are the bait of choice for those tossing lines from shore on White Iron, with many Pike up to 39 inches, along with an 8 1/2 pound walleye being caught with them.
The minnow supply is getting better, so we should have plenty for the Memorial Day weekend.
Leeches are running smaller, but warm weather will have the larger ones trapping shortly.
