I Just finished guiding a real nice family outing Dan Latch his Dad Gene and his son Eric from the Omaha NE area. We had the wind blow day one with 30 to 40 mph stuff but managed to come up with 16 walleye with a 23 a 24 and a 25 incher in the bunch. We caught all these fish in around 22 fow on Oahe using bottom bouncer minnows. They then hit a real nice day so we stayed on Oahe (lower end fishing out of cow creek) and put full limits of all their over 20 inch fish (22 25 26 inchers) Their 3 over 15 (18 inch avg.) and all their under 15 inch fish to get 24 fish limits. Day three was a 20 fish day for them so the ended up taking home a real big cooler full of walleye with a few bass and catfish for a bonus bag. Due to real dirty water we pulled some flicker shads in around 10 fow to put the fish in the boat. Big females are biting now all over Oahe from the dam to the 212 bridge and there are real good numbers of over 20 inch fish in most bags and most experienced anglers are putting limits of fish in their boats on both Oahe and Sharpe. Smallmouth, Northern and catfish continue to be bonus fish for many anglers. I think a big percentage of the big fish are coming shallow yet (5 fow) so if you like to cast throwing jig/gulp etc. can be very rewarding. Looking for mud lines and stained water with higher water temps is a good starting point. If you are interested in current regulations update you might tap on the GFP Note that I posted preceding this report.
