    • Fishing & Hunting South Dakota's Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe
I fished the Justin Plush Group from Topeka, Kansas to their limits of walleye on both Oahe and Sharpe. We used bottom/bouncer/night crawler rigs along with jigs/gulp on Oahe and also used night crawler/bouncer rigs on Sharpe. Recent storms had the water muddy in many places making finding fish that were active a little harder but we found some green water and managed to put limits in the boat. We fished in 10 fow or less on Oahe and stayed around 20 fow on Sharpe. I then fished the Doug Hays party from Kansas City on Sharpe both days getting them limits of quality walleye in about 20 fow on mostly crawler bouncer rigs. We did catch fish pulling flicker shad plugs also. These two guys are just about as unlucky as you can get driving all the way up from KC to fish both days in 25 to 40 mph winds and rain. They stuck it out though and went home with limits of walleye and bass. A couple of great guys and I really enjoyed fishing them in spite of the unfavorable conditions. The bite is excellent when the weather is good but we are having a real windy wet spring. Hopefully things will improve as summer arrives. Minnows are still going but night crawlers are as good now. Many big fish are still shallow so if you want nice over fish in your bag keep someone pitching jigs/gulp etc. to the bank.
