Hi Everyone!

I'm 26 years old, grew up in WI and have been an avid deer hunter since I was 12  :Hunter:  Three years ago I decided to chase a doe (college sweethart) to the west metro for her job.  Getting back to WI to hunt has presented many challanges, mostly $ and time.  I can only see it getting worse once we have kids someday

I look forward to exploring the site/trailcam photos!

Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

Hi Cody,
I live in St. Louis just off of Hwy 100.  I now realize why my parents live in the boonies!   You know of any good public land for deer hunting west of the metro?  Willing to drive a ways if there are some good honey holes.

wi2,

You'll need a public hunting atlas, plan on heading west about 2hours to get away from the crowds, lots of land to scout, once the crops are down you can figure it out pretty easy.

I live in Chanhassen. there is some public land but sense its so close it gets a crazy amount of pressure. you can find some good land, just gotta put in the work and get away from the crowds.

Thanks for the info.  Sounds like I would be better off paying the $160 to hunt WI and know that no one will walk under my stand.  Only about an hour drive to my parents land south of Ellsworth, WI.  I attached a pic of the 8-pointer I shot last year.

It would appear so with the orange backtag, but I took that buck bowhunting.  Saw him the night before, but too far out of range.  It was a horrible shot in the ass, but I must have hit a main artery becuase he pilled up about 60 yards from my stand.  I like bowhunting 10x more than gun!!!!

Welcome WitoMnhunter
You hang around here long enough and maybe attend a tackle swap somebody will invite you on a huntin trip. I just know it.  You are right about them two legged deer with skin that is already tanned in the sun. If it weren't for them a guy would be fishing or hunting daily.
