Rogers said the bear killed Friday was the most valuable animal to his research. "We not only had the collar on her but we could walk with her. That meant we could get much more detail," he said.

If the bear would let humans walk with her then I would question how valid that info was, when compared to a wild bear that would avoid human contact. To me his research is only valid for bears that are conditioned to have human interaction as a normal part of their life. This has nothing to do with real, wild, bears.

it could be argued then that his ability to walk with the bear contributed to it's lack of fear in walking into a hunters blind.. as the scent of a human would no longer be a concern for it
