Walleyes are still moving towards the river and bays as fall fishing continues. Anchored up jigging is still the method of choice. Try 23-28 feet in front Morris Gap, Lighthouse Gap, Zippel Bay and in Four Mile Bay. Move shallow in the late afternoon and evenings to 8-16 feet. Pink, gold, and chartreuse are the hot colors this week baited with a live/frozen shiner.

On the Rainy River, walleyes are on the move!  Anchor and jig in 20' of water along the 6 mile stretch from Timbermill Park to Clementson Bay.  Scattered reports of eaters in front of the chapel to the mouth of the river. Use pink, gold, and purple. Sturgeon are hungry all along the river bends and deep holes. Right now is catch and release for sturgeon.

Up at the NW Angle, eater sized walleye have been active.  West of Falcon Island, Deep Water Bay, Soldier Point and on the south end of Oak Island. Jig with a minnow anchored up with gold and red/white. Crappies are close by in 33-35 feet. Try trolling in 8-11 feet for muskie and pike. Stay close to shorelines with a Jake lure for best results.  For more info, go to www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com.
