Well we have been chatting about this on a different site,and we have one leech lake tribal memeber chimming in giving his side as he knows the folks involved,he claims the natives involved are lawyered up hoping this case makes it to federal court to prove these folks have the right to a modest living commercial fishing leech lake(after we stocked it) via their 1854 treaty,and yes there are non-tribal members involved for purchasing,guess who payes the fines?not the guys netting and selling fish... This entire issue of special rights for a group of folks is flat ass wrong in modern times folks.

Just think,what would they be doin if we non natives did'nt stock the lake? Oh yeah,collect their federal monies,along with their9our)federal money for healthcare,schooling  etc...

   Bob, I hate to think how much more damage would have been done had you not found the fish pile.  We may not be happy with the results in the end but you put the offenders on the defensive.
