   I am sure my teammates would be happy for me.  If you see me at eelpout that means I got the 70"s of pike and walleye my team needs to win.

  Man I am about ready to hang it up.  This has been the worst ice fishing season for me that I can remember.  I am not done yet but I am glad this will be over next week.  The conditions have been horrible which I can deal with if the fish are biting once in a while.  Any other year I would just move if I had to.  I never have had to. Go out and catch pike in the early afternoon, walleyes early am and sunset.  This year with the snow moving the house would have been just about  impossible.  Pulling it off on Sunday will be a challenge in itself.  To the other members of Team Winter Storm I will be fishing for home runs.  A slight upgrade does us no good.   

Team Winter Storm has had the same results as the summer team....

   I'm out and officially about ready not to ever set foot on the ice again.  It was a long weekend.      I had quite the winter adventure this weekend.  I did get to the house on Thurs. and fished from noon to 6pm without a flag or a mark on the Vex.  The interesting part started Friday after the storm.

  The guy with the skid loader that I hired said we should have taken some pics.  I just want to forget the whole thing.  Friday at 2pm I tried to get to the house.  I made it about 1/2 way before I got stuck the first time.  I was able to dig out and get turned around.  I headed back and  got stuck 4 more times.  I realized I was not going to make it.  I was pushing snow with the front end.  One friend tried to open up the access to get to me with his plow truck.  He broke a motor mount and had to bail out.  Another friend came to the rescue and was able to break through the access.  He was able to make a new road out to me.  I got my truck off the lake at 6:30 pm. 

    Sat. am we got Jon's skid loader  to open the access and make a road to the house.    The snow piles where as high as the skid loaders bucket would go.  I got the house back to the cabin and got it stuck in the middle of the driveway.  It's going to sit there until spring.  After that I helped Jon pull two other houses off the lake.  He would get stuck from time to time when a hard drift would be hit.  I am so sick of this winter.   I shoveled more snow this weekend than I have in the last 10 years.  No pics because I don't want to remember it.

  to hear of all the de-fugalties that you suffered through this weekend. Just reading about it was starting to give me chest pains.

I guess I'll hold off on the smack comments for the next 24 to 48 hrs out of respct because of all the suffering you've already been through.

I'm about ready to  in the ice challenge. I had planned on getting out this Friday to try to get some upgrades, but I don't have an extension.  :bang head: I also see -30 in the forecast.

Wyofish I took Mama up to Audubon on sunday since we didn't make it to Eelpout, u don't need a extension there..caught some nice walleyes and a few junk fish..here is a pic of Mama with one of 5 whopper junk fish she caught....there are some Big Northerns in there also..

I talked to a guy at Six Mile Corner yesterday, and he said 40+" of ice on Sakakawea, 45+" on Audubon. My auger can do 36" max. Was he mistaken? How much on Sunday?

I sure didn't find that much last sunday, I wasn't fishing right next to shore...humps out a bit.  I have a extension on my nils and it seemed like I had a foot and 1/2 at least to the auger.  Sakajawea is always thinner ice, Fishing buddy said ice was only 15-34" on Sakajawea..http://www.fishingbuddy.com/sakakawea_ice_fishing

  I will not set foot on the ice again this winter until the snow is gone.  I said under duress that I don't care it I ever set foot on it again, ever.  I used every trick in my bag to get off that lake.  I drilled a hole 3/4 of the way through the ice,dropped a 4x4 in it.  Hooked up my come along and inched my truck out of tire divots twice.  The conditions were such that chains would not have made a bit of difference.  I could move up until I started pushing snow with the grill of the truck.  I got the house stuck in the middle of the driveway once I got it off the lake Sat..  This winter I broke a logging chain,  several straps, a cheap shovel and wounded my spirit.  A wounded spirit can only do one thing.  RELOAD!!!!   The auger extension was purchased and used this year.  The bigger backup heater was purchased (Big Buddy ).  New tow straps were purchased. A big one and two little ones that were on sale for 5 $ at Fleet Farm.  A new come along with 2 ton power pulling power was purchased.  I forgot to mention that once I got off the lake last Friday I pulled a guy out that was stuck turning into his driveway.   He didn't want to use what was left of my chain.  He thought it might scratch his hitch.        He walked up to his garage and brought back a heavy rope. I was in no hurry after 4.5 hrs digging out.  You sure wouldn't want to risk scratching a hitch.
