where is a good place to stay if I come to iffie.......I have dogs.

I know there is a gas station and a café. Never heard of lodging in them parts. I do know a guy that lives in a trailer right at the edge of town but I do not think he wants to part with his grouse friends. There are good people up there. But it is a place where you need to be concerned walking up to a property unannounced.

The closest hotel is the Timberwolf Inn south of Bigfork or Antler lodge has a hotel across from it on hwy 7. Not sure if they let you have dogs, but they might. Since I grew up in that area, Bigfork, some other good areas is on scenic hwy 7. If you can get into the Farm camp road area, Jingle lake trail, Lost and Owen lakes area are some good spots. But every one knows of these areas and there are lots of hunters. Was just north of Koochiching line this last fall and seen birds but they were skittish. Like Ken says, be careful of whos land you walk up on.
