I'm coming to Effie on my next grouse hunt., next oct.  I'm looking for all info members can give me.

I hope you enjoy it Pepperdog. Sounds kinda like you killed off all the ones in your neck of the woods from hunting them everyday. If you promise to leave some for seed I may be able to set you up with some land up there by Oct.

don't know the area around Effie but I am not to far down the road. from what I hear if ya head down the right road you may encounter Chinese chickens, heard theres a game farm in the Effie area. I find the best hunting is brushy areas, close to swamps and areas that have been logged out in the recent past.

one key I find is to hunt midweek after the weekend warriors have left.

.......just a thought.....if and when I get there maybe you could direct me in a good direction...its hard to go to a new place and not know anyone
I've been looking at some hunter walking trails.......which ones do you think are good.
