Fishing remains consistent. Walleyes and saugers filling limits with a good mix of jumbo perch and tulibees mixed in. The morning/evening bite producing in 14-15 feet of water. Mid day try 28-34 feet over mud flats. Some resorts have moved out to reefs near Knight and Bridges and Starren shoal with positive reports. Jigging spoons tipped with minnow head or body in jigging hole.  Dead stick,1/4 oz jigs or plain hooks in gold, glow, and red tipped with a live minnow.

On the Rainy River, pre-spawn is just around the corner as walleyes move mornings and evenings to 17-19 feet. Action is best towards the mouth of the river. Gold, pink, or glass eyed jigs best for dead stick hole, bug eyes and wabblers doing well jigging.

Walleyes have been very active up at the NW Angle. Numbers of jumbo perch and saugers in the mix easily filling limits. 27-29' has been the best bite with most fish feeding close to bottom. Use gold or glow tipped with a minnow.  Good crappie action continues adjacent to deep bays.  For more info on lodging or ice fishing, www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com or 218-634-1174.
