It's crawler time!

Anyone been out collecting crawlers yet.

 It rained most of the night Monday so I went out to the local forest preserve Tuesday am. Generally when the first batch of crawlers come out for the year they are not the jumbos. This was the case but, they will grow under my loving care and worm food I give them.
 
I saw tons laying all over the parking areas, every area was just loaded. It's great when they are just on the pavement because it's perfect for my crawler collector I invented. I gathered up 300 crawlers and quit. I could have gotten as many as I wanted but, I'll wait till they grow a bit larger in a week or two.
 
With the price of crawlers going up every single year it's worth the effort to gather them in the spring.
