I had a great morning. Went out to a few tried and true spots and found a few.  On a whim I asked permission to a farm I squirrel hunted as a kid.  The lady has to be in her 90's.  She is still sharp as a tack and said I sure grew up.  I soon found over 7 pounds of morels in a spot no bigger than a basketball court.  I went back and showed her my find and gave her about 2 pounds.  She said that it was way to many for her but I insisted that she take them and share with her sister.  We sat for about an hour and had a good talk.  She told me to not be a stranger for so long.  I will be stopping back this summer with a few sunnies and a jar of pickled pike. Hopefully take the kids there and let them get a squirrel or 2.  And then play cards with the lady like a did as a kid

Her and her husband always had time for a little kid that needed a spot to hunt.  They also taught me how to play 3 handed sheephead. A good old german card game

That's pretty cool there dakids,  There not dead there just old and you can learn a lot over a game of cards. I have a buddy whose mom is 90 and the things she remembers from back in the 40'and 50's  History that you can't read from any book.   :happy1:

Heck yes! The season is just starting out here. That  when the lilac bloom is way off this year.Another old saying is "when the oak leaves are the size of lambs ears" The oaks out here are about near that stage.Lilac have another 2-3 weeks before bloom,They have flower buds that grew within the last few days.

13 more pounds today. Most were found in a spot 15 yards square.  Best I have ever done in one spot.

There are a pile of growing right now around here. I have found great numbers from Lino to Wayzata. Check also with apple orchards. Poplar and cottonwood host morels as well.

I went out this morning and it will be my last trip of the year.  I am pretty sure there are a lot of mushrooms that I ran passed this morning, but if I were to walk slow enough to find more mushrooms I might not have made it out alive.  The mosquitoes were the worst I have ever seen.  It seems that every mosquito larve hatched all at once.  On Friday I didn't see a single one and today it was hard not to breath one in on every breath.  I did manage to find 2 pounds in the 15 minutes off of the 4 wheeler.
