After owning my property for 25 years, I decided to post it "No Trespassing".
I never felt the need until a week ago when a large group of ATV's (6 or 7 that I saw) ran up and down my fields and drove on trails that I have stayed off of because they were soft due to all the rain.  This occurred at 7 PM while the neighbor and I were bow hunting.  At first I thought they would just pass through and be gone but after they made another pass, I decided to confront them.  By the time I got out, they were gone.  All that was left was the muddy trails they left behind.    :censored:
I talked to a couple neighbors and told them I planned to post my property.  Some of them ride horseback on my property and I intend to let them know it will still be ok to ride there.  I may look like the Ahole that doesn't let people on his land but I just can't take having some idiots mess up the place.  I do feel bad about it because most of the people who went through were just enjoying the land and not out to wreck it.

You are not the ahole.  The guys on the atv's are the aholes.  Some people have no respect for other peoples property.
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

wanting to know who's on your land.. doesn't make you the a-hole.

Us aholes have to stick together. As a rule I will give almost anyone who asks, permission to use my property. I do have a problem with unknown persons being on my property and have the road side of it posted.
You should contact the local CO to report the incident for future reference.

So yesterday I put up some signs.  Here is how the interlopers will be greeted

since that appears mostly agriculture land do you only have to post the corners to be legally posted?  I haven't checked the book in a while.  do you have to sign/date/phone number? or am I working off of some old rule book that changed?

I only put up two signs.  They are at the two access points that a truck or ATV could enter the property.  The two signs are about 1 3/4 miles apart.  Actually it is not required to post agriculture land.  By law it is illegal to trespass on any agriculture land posted or not.  I do plan to put my name on the signs I didn't have a marker with me when I put them up.  It would be a daunting task to post the boarders as there would be over 7 miles of border to post.

You must post once a year including name and number of owner/occupant. You need to post corners, 500 or 1000 foot intervals, and access points unless thru Ag land. Ag land need not be posted.
It is better to over post and then they have no excuse for not seeing the sign.
It looks like only thing missing is contact info on the signs.
