Went up on Tuesday, saw about 15 deer (however, 2 came in a couple different times I am sure)  I ended the night with 4 does and 2 fawns hanging around the stand.  No bucks.  They are probably all hanging out in the swamps though.  So the woods is full with does until they start chasing.  Luckily the bucks will be all over these 4 big, old does - I once the rut hits, I should be in luck.
I have the cameras up now (first time up to the land), so I am headed up again this weekend, so I will let you know if I see anything good.

Small bucks mostly so far. I saw my first doe from a stand last night. But I am concerned because through the summer with trail camera and now into the season I have seen only a few doe. Also I have seen no fawns this season. I know there is a bear or 2 in the area and I have coyote on trail camera. I am hunting a new area so I don't know if it's just a low doe area, if the bear and coyote took out the fawns, the winter took it's toll, or the neighbors got to carried away with themselves last year. My brother in law (the land owner) told me about how the neighbors actually drive cars out in the soybean fields during gun season. They also walk through the corn fields and shoot off their rifles trying to push deer that way. It could be a combination of a few factors.

well just got back in from the stand weather was nice out there tonight. Saw five deer a big old brute not sure how many points it was at last light, also saw a nice 8pt chasing three doe's through the swamp I did a double take to be sure and YES he sure was CHASING them doe's cooler temps might be getting them fired up. Over all another great night in the woods. ;)
