Ely area ice conditions!

Despite the warming trend that melted most of the snow on area lakes last Sunday and Monday, the ice conditions are very good!
Smaller lakes have a foot or more of solid ice, but larger lakes can vary in ice thickness
We received 3 inches of snow in the last 24 hours, so if we do not get any major snowfall in the next several weeks, the ice for Lake Trout season should be excellant.
Fishermen will have  the ability to fish just about anywhere without danger of getting stuck in slush.

Trout season opens on January 17th, and the ice should be really good barring some disaster from above!!
