There are plenty of people scratching their heads over the latest court ruling that put control of wolves in Minnesota back under the federal government.
This put an end to wolf hunting and trapping and set up a battle that will be fought both in the courts and in the U.S. House of Representatives with pending legislation.
But is there some impropriety in the judge who ruled on this case? Back in December Judge Beryl A. Howell returned wolves to the Endangered Species List.
Her ruling basically said the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service can’t say the wolf has recovered in the Great Lakes until they are recovered across much of the United States.
A quick search on the internet finds that Howell is married to Michael Rosenfeld, an executive producer at National Geographic Television & Film (according to Wikipedia).
