There is no reason to keep your dog away from what they love. Get out to one of the many preserves today and let your dog do what they love to do!

Yep, and remember to bring your own water for the dog.
With no snow to eat they get thirsty as heck, and most preserves will not have a heated water trauff for them.

Mandy gets out at least once a month to Rocky Bay, or some other preserve to keep in shape.

I know some people will say that preserve hunts are not hunting, well it is to your dog regaurdless of what you think.

Just ask your dog if they know the differance when your missing that rooster as it flys out of range.

I just went to Sand Pine Pheasants in Avon this saturday with a group of 11. I wish I had some pictures to post of my dog from the hunt. He did great. What a blast if your in the area check this place out, it was very nice. I only wish I could get out more.

Yes it is open to public threw the members. Hard to explain but I will give it a shot.
Steve (owner of Rooster Ridge) has this perseve for fun or what I would call a part time job He loves meeting new people and probley talk you ear off if he is around. The operation is ran on honesty. Their is no way Steve can be their for every hunter due to his day job, so  he has 12-15 members to the club that have keys, and people sign up threw the members. The members do not make money from the hunters, all of the money goes back into the preserve for future improvments. Steve puts all profit back into the preserve. Rather if you want a day hunt or a complete membership just let a member know when and they can have everything reserved/unlocked and set up. You can do the birds your self, or depending on member they we set them. So it is between you and the member if you want a full guided hunt or just some birds and let you have the fun of hunthing them yourself.

Seems like a crazy system, but is working out well. This is not a high buck ritzy club. Just a place for fellow hunters to come together have a great time at a reasonable rate. Hope this helps, any other questions let me know.

Hey,
Just wanted to follow up with rooster ridge's wed site. I noticed the price is way off. I talked with Steve (owner) and he said the membership right now is $125 and a min of 100 birds @ $15. so total cost would be $1625.  This would fall under a corporate membership, so you can have a # of people listed under that membership. Just so their is no confusion, after this season the price will be going up. The price is not set but looks like $125 or $150 for membership, and $18 a bird. I have more info if someone is intrested, No need to list it here. I am not selling, just want to share a fun spot I have found.

One thing Steve asked me to ask other preserve hunters. He is looking to add day hunts, or weekend hunts. So what would be fair pricing, or what do people want in a weekend hunt?

Rocky bay is $1000 with 80 birds included and a three person corprate member limit.

Regular memberships are $150 with two or three free birds.

Price per bird is $14 non member and $12 member price.

I really like Rocky Bay. I really like Al and Val...the owners, and the rest of the staff there that helps out makes it a pleasure to keep going back. Heck, I could just go sit in the school house and drink pop all day and have a good time.

If it warms up a tad this next weekend you'll find me there!

Al is a great guy, val can be a pain some times but for the most part she is great as well.

Bear Creek has a more chalanging fields, but thier  prices are a little higher to.

My buddies dog got ran over by a shorty school bus, he went in for bladder surgery this morning.

He only had a ten inch gash and now the bruised bladder that they had to go in and look at to make sure it didn't rupture.

He must have tumbled under the frame and was missed by the rear tires.

So we are down to Mandy ,Ruby and Meagan now for 4 guys to hunt behind.
