Fishing Report Lakes Oahe/Sharpe Pierre area for June 29th and 30th

Once again I took out a real nice group of repeat customers Randal and Todd Harder and their friends Craig and Cory Leland for two days of limit fishing for walleye with smallmouth bass, northern pike, catfish, perch and drum as bonus catches. The weather was great for these guys and so was the bite with nice 17 inch avg size walleye in the box for them to take home along with some great meals cooked here. We caught these fish on spinner crawler rigs bottom bouncer fishing in around 10 fow on lake Oahe. The bite is very good with most boats coming in with limits although it is possible to miss the bite if you get in wrong depths or wrong areas. Most presentations from plug pulling to jig fishing are working along with minnows and leeches. Sharpe continues to put out limits especially in the big bend area with fish there being deeper (20 fow) and less boat traffic. As of July 1st the 15 inch limit length comes off so keeping smaller fish will also help limit catches on Sharpe. Weather has been just great and I think most fishermen coming around Pierre are going home happy. Bug spray is helpful in your boat and remember to drain live wells before you leave fish cleaning areas due to the new GFP regs to control invasive species.
