My first post here guys.  I've been over on 24 Hour Campfire for several years.  Just found this sight.  My interests are deer hunting, grouse hunting, and fishing.  I'm a dispensing optician by trade, and used to fish a lot of bass tournaments in my younger years.  I like Savage 99's, and ugly old Mausers.  My current deer rifle is an Axis in .243.  I had congestive heart failure a couple years ago, and after the pacemaker/defibrillator was installed, the docs suggested I cut back on the recoil a bit, so I ended up with a .243.  I hunt Minnesota, and Ohio and Pennsylvania.  I own a deer camp in Central Pa. that's been in our family for close to 70 years.

For about 20 years we've hunted near Emily off Highway 6.  Unfortunately for us, someone bought a big chunk of the land we hunted of TruJoist, and we don't have access to it any more.  The remaining land in that spot got real crowded real fast, and I just don't care to hunt in crowds like that.  I've done some hunting up in the Duluth area, but the herd's in pretty rough shape up there.  We never heard a shot up there last year on the opener until 4:00 in the afternoon. 

We're moving north a bit from Emily.  We'll be hunting in the Outing area this fall on new ground.  We'll have to get out and do our scouting and pay our dues a bit, but that just goes with developing new spots. 

For archery, I'll be hunting near home in Lakeville.  I lucked out and got permission to hunt a really good farm west of I-35.  Can't wait to get in there. 

I am half owner of a deer camp in  central Pennsylvania, and won't be going east this fall, but will be next year.
