With football really starting this weekend I was looking over the rosters of the two fantasy teams that I have and of course the other teams in my leagues.  Out of the 180 players selected between the two leagues no one drafted a Bears player :coffee: Do you think there is something to that!   :rotflmao:

. Adam Gase proves to be the Jay Cutler whisperer, helping the Chicago Bears win NFC North .

 :doah: ....
More than anything else, Cutler is known for being the guy that has gotten multiple head coaches and coordinators fired during his career. From Josh McDaniels to Lovie Smith and Marc Trestman, this has been one of the common themes in an up-and-down career for the otherwise ultra-talented quarterback.

 :coffee: more........
Though, it appears that Cutler could be on the verge of breaking out of his funk. :happy1:  I know, how many times have we heard this before? The idea here is that Gase's offensive system is quarterback friendly — something we saw in Denver with Peyton Manning. A quick release, timing offense will also help the Bears overcome what could very well be another poor season from the team's offensive line. Add into the equation two elite pass catchers in Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett, and the Bears offense might surprise a few people.

While likely to finish in the cellar :bs: in the ultra-competitive NFC North, some major improvement under first-year defensive coordinator Vic Fangio could help the Bears surprise a lot of skeptics this season. Matt Marton Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, right, and offensive coordinator Adam Gase walk together after NFL football minicamp in Lake Forest, Ill.     Jared Allen trade win-win for Panthers, Bears

, USA TODAY Sports Dennis Wierzbicki, USA TODAY Sports The Carolina Panthers needed pass rush help, and Jared Allen needed a better defensive fit.

So at least initially, consider Monday’s trade in which the reeling Chicago Bears sent the veteran pass rusher to Carolina to be a good situation for both parties.

In Carolina, Allen will be back in a 4-3 defense, the scheme in which he was most comfortable as a defensive end. In Chicago, Allen had struggled in the first three weeks as an outside linebacker in coordinator Vic Fangio’s 3-4 defense.

The Bears already paid Allen an $11.5 million roster bonus this year, so this is a low-risk financial move for the Panthers. Allen has base salaries of $8.5 million in 2016 and $8 million in 2017 remaining on the four-year contract he signed with the Bears in 2014.

The Panthers have a respectable seven sacks in three games – tied for seventh-most in the NFL – but top pass rusher Charles Johnson is dealing with a hamstring injury that will keep out at least through next week. Allen should immediately help fill that void, and then create a more formidable duo whenever Johnson is cleared to return.

For the Bears, it’s a quick move to rid the team of a player who just wasn’t fitting in. Though the Bears are 0-3, there have been some promising signs on defense, none more than the play of pass rusher Pernell McPhee, signed as a free agent from Baltimore this year. McPhee is a far better fit in Fangio’s scheme than Allen.

Don't think Lee will be offering any wagers in the Bears/Vikes matchup this season. Unless he of course as for points.  :coffee:  But I never seem to remember him offering points to Vikings fans when his Bears were on top!
