The ride up 169 heading for Emily and our deer hunting spot get really depressing when we go by Mille Lacs.  The lake literally looks dead.  No boats out at all, except for maybe one or two muskie rigs.  The little resorts that dotted the shore are dwindling in numbers.  Many cabins have been abandoned and are falling in from neglect.  They can say whatever they want, but the lake has rapidly gone down hill since the netting commenced.  It's all about the money-to the tribe, the netting is just an end to a means.  The means being the casino.  If it stays like this, they will own the whole west shore of the lake in a few years.  There's a bunch of real estate available for the takintg there right now.  Eddy's looks like a prison.  I'll never stay there again.  Truly a shame to see what they've done to such a vibrant area and a great lake.
