We ordered a quarter steer which arrives tomorrow so I was cleaning the deep freeze out.  I found 4 packs of venison cheddar brats buried at the bottom from two years ago.  I was surprised but actually a little upset because they were just butcher wrapped and I figured they'd be freezer burnt beyond palatable.  Nothing I hate more than throwing out harvested game.  So I boiled one pack up just to make sure and they tasted fresh from the smoker!  Glad we'll be able to enjoy those and not toss them!

Also took inventory and I have just over 5 lbs of ground venny from last year's kill, still.  Think I'll make some sticks to bring to the cabin in a couple of weeks for our 10 days up there before the 4th!  The first batch of Cody's sticks from Curleys I did over the winter vanished before my eyes.  good to have on hand for a 5 and 8 year old that are always hungry.

Ya, loosing anything from wild game would be a bummer.  Glad it survived.  good luck.
