On Sunday after putting out a few trail cams I found a lot of chantrelle mushrooms. I picked a 5 gallon bucket in 10 min.   I brought most of them to work and had a friend verify them.  They were the real deal.  I just sliced them in half and fried in butter.  WOW were they tasty.  Almost as good as morel mushrooms.

Looks like chicken of the woods.

What a score dakids!!!! They are probably my favorite even more so than morels!! Those and the meadow rooms are highly cherished in our house.
Morels are hard to get in farm country,I do have 4 spots I pick maybe 3-4 dozen if I am on time an lucky. Chantrells are in a woods 200 yards from home along with some shelf rooms.Just a 20 acre woods. The meadows grow on my nextdoor lot when fall conditions are right I can get 15 -20 lbs in a area bout the size of a 2 car garage or nothing if its a dry fall.
 Enjoy those babies!!! their great!!
