Chicken Tacos

[Cherrywood]

Started out with some boneless, skinless chicken thighs. Seasoned them up with some cumin, garlic, chilipowder. I wanted to grill up some onion and bell pepper too.



I also grilled up some tomatillos and made a salsa out those. Of course i made guacamole as well.

was good stuff, i don't think i have ever had a tomatillo before today, least i never made it, maybe in a restaurant and not known it. Had a nice citrus flavor to them but, i wouldn't eat that salsa alone at least tasted really good mixed up with all the rest of the taco.

We did tacos last evening also>>Had some leftover skirt steak,Was going to make em wit some leftover tempura sunfish fillets.But mama said better use these skirt steaks,sunfish was the night before the meat was 3 nights ago!!

Ever tried deep fried flour tortilla tacos? Lay the tort flat smear a bit of refried beans on 1/2 to hold the meat,So it dont fall to the bottom of the fried tort,add mead useing the refrieds as a glue,Toothpick em shut deep fry then open add yer choice of whatever and eat!!
 Or just cut flour torts into 8 wedges and deepfry as chips salt when removed from hot oil. Makes GREAT chips wit salsa!!

Ahh, pipe down, ya muggins.  The only oil I have is in a spray can, and some 30W Valvoline in the garage. I cook oil free. It's better for ya.

How about butter Rebs?  Do you ever use that?  That brings up a story but I don't want to cloud the chicken taco thing here.

Nope. Can't believe it's not butter, on toast, and that's about it. Once in a while on a sandwich. Actually pretty healthy eater....with a few minor quirks. Del would yelp about my Rice-a-roni I very occasionally have, and my bigger portions of meat. Lotsa fresh veggies, fruits, grains. 1% milk. !% cottage cheese. No fried foods. No fast foods. Never candy. Don't eat out. Pull skin off chicken and hand trim all meat.  No gravies or canned soups or stews. (YUK!!) Make all my soups from scratch. Drink gallons of iced black tea. No sweets, except fig bars, and lately, a very small dish of ice cream once in a while. Gotta live a little. That's about it....

I was informed that the I cant believe its not butter is one ingredient away from being plastic!!!!!!!! used to use it all the time....now its supportin the dairy industry................. real butter.

I agree with REB. But not quite that drastic. The only deep fried I eat is fish. Just can.t find a way to eat fish that I like other than deep fried. Lots of fruits and veggies. Especially now in the summer when lots are in season. And I have a big garden. No margarine and I only put butter on corn on the cob. 90% lean ground beef. I've lost 50 pounds over the last couple years.
