Hunting at the "Big Buck Mecca "

Arrived at noon and unpacked and set a game plan for the nights hunt.  The 1st sit of the trip netted only one deer spotted at the end of shooting light. 
     Good night's sleep and off to the mornings new stand.  I heard a couple deer working their way down the hill towards me.  A huge doe fed in front of me for 10 min and kept looking back up the hill at the other deer.  I was hoping it would follow her and be a big buck. But it never came by me.  The doe eventually crossed the beaver dam and out of site.  As I was watching the mallards on the pond I spotted a buck on the other side 400 yards away and head towards where the doe went. They never came by me.
    Chef Deadeye made breakfast and we set plan for the nights hunt.  After sighting in the deer rifles we ate a late lunch and headed out.  After only an hour a spotted some does and fawns feeding under a big oak.  As I was watching them I heard something right behind me.  I slowly look over my shoulder and see a fork buck coming down a trail.  He spots the does on top of the hill and runs up to investigate.  They head out of site never to be seen again.
     Venison steaks on the grill for supper with taters, carrots and onions. Set plans for the morning hunts and to bed we went. On my way to the designated hunting stand I heard deer running around.  I slowly snuck into the stand.  Before I could even pull up my bow I had a fawn less than 15 yards away.  As it got light enough to see I watched the does leave down a trail 30 yards out.  20 min later I see mister big walking down the same trail.  I come to full draw as he goes behind a tree.  Just before he is about to step into the shooting lane he turns down a different trail and heads away.  I give him a few grunts and he stopped  and looked around.  He starts leaving again and when he get into some thick brush a throw out a snort weeze.   We have a stare down for 5 min.  He twitches his tail and walks away. 
Doe path is blue. Bucks is red

I love that the stands have cool names.  Here are a few that I remember.  Condo, bobcat, interloper,  big oak, noisy oak, pumpkin patch, buck ridge, contraption.  They also have the palette bridge and also the toll bridge.
