I have a Green Mountain Grill Daniel Boone grill smoker.  It is great but sometimes pellets get hung up and clogs it up.   May be from not using their pellets.  When it is working it is great!!!  I also still have a gas grill that comes in handy at times too.   I also have a cheapy Char Broil kettle grill since my third or fourth Weber rotted out.  I do use them all at different times.. I still think about getting a dedicated smoker since I threw my frig smoker away when I got the Daniel Boone.  Those Mastercrafts look pretty cool.  SO how do you all like your smokers?  I may have to add onto my deck to hold all of this hardware, but I can deal with that....   lol

I've got a masterbuilt 30-inch and I absolutely love it. If I were to get another one, id definitely still get the digital, but would save a few bucks and get one without the front window.

Someday I'll get an electric gizmo, for a bunch of years I used a propane smoker, I think it's a smokey mountain or something which did pretty good, but lately all I use it is for jerky.  Did lots of smokes on the weber but when I picked up this big dog charcoal this has been my go too for hot smokes or cold. It's big enough to do 4 beer butt chickens if needed. Kinda nice with front door to add wood chunks or charcoal without opening the lid. The day this thing falls apart is when the electric will be on the patio and I blow the dust off the weber.

My latest cooker I built a little differently, front load with 2 individual fire grates/ash pans that have infinite height adjustments. I liked the side drawer unit and I still use it at our deer camp but I use this one at home.

Ash pan handle for handling the individual charcoal grates.

If I want indirect, I rake my coals to the front and sprinkle some chips on.

I can keep the lid shut and maintain the fire and smoke through the loading door without screwing up the heat/smoke in the upper portion of the box.

I like it.

I don't know how to attach a video... I'll try though

Well, I was going to wait until noon to warm-up my lunch but after seeing those pics, there's no more holding out...

Too bad it wont be as tasty as the food in the pics, either.

Lol, it was warmed up left over chili for us at the little hot rod shop today.

Not too bad, but now we have a methane problem in the shop. No welding or grinding today I guess. Safety first!

lol

I knew I should have taken welding instead of vector calculus.   I already knew all the calculus stuff from Electromagnetic Fields class, so it was total waste of time.  Now welding would have been useful...

Nicely done northerndave!!! Most importantly how does it seal? I had to add stove gasket around the lid  for better heat control.

Didn't want it as a profession.  That would be too much like work.   But as a hobby or additional skill.

Was at Fleet Farm today and noticed that they had the Mastebuilt 40 inch electric smokier their top of the line for $299.  That's the same price of the 30 inch.  Good deal.  good luck.

Not sure Boar but it sure was nice.  I already spent $300 bucks on stocking stuffers and more so I could have pulled the plug right there and then.  good luck.
