Grear season!

YES A GREAT SEASON!  the opening weekend was pretty slow with the warm temps so it was pretty uneventfull but still fun, it came and went with no deer and few seen, tuesday, I took a half day of work and took BoarQueen and Boarlit out for a evening hunt, wasnt sure if we were goa see anything as it was like sitting in church with two kids surpressing laughter the whole time. with about 20 min left of shooting, a nice doe steps out for my wife, as her and halle came to an agreement on who would shoot first.
   Lori took the shot, she said it felt good, but I watched thru binos and couldnt tell how hard it was hit, but it was hit. it tucked its tail andran to the woods, you could tell it was hit tho. after hour or more of searching for any sign of blood, with no snow, man what happen to those days, to far and few between. with no snow on a black dirt feil it was impossible to find any blood. the tree line where she enter held the same results. we looked with woods to no avail also. Well mark one in the loss collum. she bumbed.
    Friday came and I took another  half day and picked up my boarlit and off we go,I had a nagging feeling we should have sat further north on the feild but opted for the same box. 430 came around and out pops two, told her to take the bigger one, she steadies, and out pops anther further north, then another north in the corner of he feild, she's still on the first two which are closer by 75 yrds, BOOM! dang a miss, but Papa Boar follows up and puts her down as she didn have time for follow up herself, one in the freezer. she bumbed, but as on cue right in front of us another poped out, its smaller one, she didnt care she want a deer. BOOM! miss. she bummbed, i asked wats going on, I dont know she said. remeber to exhale and squeez.. then again her come out another down wher the first two came out. Now she's pisssed at herself and gonna make the play. Boom! thump! down for the count! two in the frezzer. that happened all in 10 min. Man that was fun huh? "like whacka mole" she said. we laughed hard at that one.
     Boar queen is up to bat now, time for redemption. I took her out late in the morn about 10 feild hunting dont happen till afternoon but ya never know, we stopped and had coffee with family on the north side for a bit and got settled in on the south side about 12ish. I opted for the north box this time. Its apparent that family that showed up friday have been pushing unbeknownts to them across the river to the feild as hey come and go from stand, the deer just bed down on the rivers edge and pop up into the field to feed. its always nice to have a little help. as we  were talking and laughing at about 2 pop out to her left, but she cant get the gun out the window before the larer of the 2 gose back in. one hangs around for a bit and gose back in also. no shot. hlaf hour later one pps out again, but its the smaller of the 2. then three more come out in the corner, 1 and a very small fawn, and another doe that was kinda spooky cause she held back as a sentry till she felt comfertable, tke that one I said, and I was getting my rifle ready, BOOM! I look up to see the deer lurch into the air and do a complete 180 and run for the woods. Boy ya got that one for sure as blood was running out the exit side. it hit the woods and dropped. Tagged out for the season! No muzzy for me So fun to have that in the memory banks. Great season. Now we have an entire day to skin and quarter. Was a great time
