Doesn't look good for me.  3 above and high winds in places up north including where I hunt besides the snow.  good luck.

Conditions like this is not good for hunting anyway.  I have went through first snow's on opener and our luck was bad the day after.  Picked up in the following days.  Deer do not move much in high winds as well.  Supposed to snow starting tomorrow morning and all day into saturday morning.  So driving up there is a problem in itself.  I did have a great time in the 5 days I did get a chance to hunt but I was planning on this last weekend with cooler temps for better results from the warm days on the opener that we had.  Now a long wait till next year.  good luck.

Smart choice, RH. Stay home, stay safe, and cook up some CHILI BRATS.  ;D   Reb's Hellfire chili is in the makings for tomorrow.

There's that squeaking noise again Reb! What the???  ;)

Birds are acting nervous this morning. Stayed relatively warm overnight and the humidity is up so something's afoot. Perfect weekend to haul chit. Weather will be too crummy to do much of anything else!  :banghead:

In western Mn now, light rain this morning has moved out, looking at the storm tract right now looks like it may move further north,I was hoping for more huntable #'s today but not much goin on(waterfowl)We'll see what this evening brings, wind is picking up tho as I peck away here.Still the major wads are in Canada and north central nodak so this storm tracking from the south west might not have an effect on the southern migration.

FYI

Earlier the weather experts were saying it was not supposed to snow up north until this morning.  But I checked the radar and it has been snowing all night long and will continue through today into the night.  My brother was going to go up today [lives in Duluth] as was I, but he will go tomorrow instead.  i may still go up tomorrow for the evening hunt and morning on Sunday but it's not looking good.  good luck.

Conventional wisdom would say like last night 30mph winds etc but the deer were moving very well last night acting weird but I saw 7 and neighbors even in the wind to my east heard more shooting last night then I did opening day ! They will move in the wind pre-frontal a bit. A lot of gunfire and I couldn't hear well, I knew I was going to see some they were moving like crazy. Now this morning was different raining and windier yet I saw just 1 buck heading for the river bottom and he wasn't a nice one, 6 pointer,  1 coyote, 4 tom turkeys, 6 swans, 2 bald eagles the turkeys didn't like those and at 9:00 I pulled the pin, insulated chest waders were HUGE this AM ! Warm/dry otherwise forget it, skipping the AM but then the wind in the PM is supposed to settle down so guess what yes the deer will be up and moving well. For some reason this area I've seen tons of legal light deer this year yet my dad in Ottertail county hasn't seen squat in legal light all fall ? Good luck guys !

We got around 5 inches here in Andover.  They got over 2 feet in Orr up north.  It's here to stay.  good luck.
