I just boiled-up my first ring - HOLY CRAP THIS STUFF IS GOOD!!!!!  Any of you thinking of trying this should do so ASAP!!! The recipe is on RH's page and it's pretty easy.  Thanks RH for sharing all that great stuff with burgeoning young (well, not young... but younger) sausage makers like myself! My kids love it as well -- which is a big deal, they can be a little picky.

I would love to try this with about a 60/40 Pork/Venison mixture - but that will have to wait for next deer season.  Until then, I see a lot of this stuff simmering in a pans of kraut and potatoes in my future!

Just checked that out!!!  I might just put that on my Christmas list!  Probably won't be that cheap again for a while.  My only reservation right now is that we've outgrown our little house and are hoping to upsize a bit within the next year or two.  Running out of places to put stuff!!! Also want to keep the clutter down for when and if the time comes to show the place.  but I bet I could make some garage space for this bad boy!

I tried a couple different ring sausages from the store over the summer (sausage and kraut sounded good at the time), and couldn't agree with you more. Fatty, zero texture, and the flavor was nothing special.

i agree hawg............that stuff is is diqusting and told the wife that stuff doesnt get brought in the house no more. lately is it isnt from a hometown homemade meat i wont eat it.

another thing is brauts.........even johnsonville!!!!!! yeuck!!!!!!!!!!
