2 black beuties

Last weekend I set 3 snare poles on a lake that has 3 lodges.  I only set the 2 small lodges.  By not setting on the big lodge I avoid all the juveniles.  It was a success as I caught a 46 and 58 pound black beaver.  We also managed our limit of 10 inch perch.

Are the pelts worth dealing with?

I might get 20 for these 2 if I was lucky.  I will send to get them tanned and make choppers and hats out of them.  I have 1 brown one sold to a friend and he offered me 75 for a tanned one.

Ended up with only 10 this year.  I might have more in the morning.  Hopefully if I do the other beavers don't attack and bite a bunch of holes in them.

Had 1 sprung empty trap and 1 that had a beaver in it.  Looked like a couple of wolves had a good meal.  Good thing k I anchored the 330 to a stump.  I will have to start using leg hold traps and on drowning rods.
