:reporter; Bears Chairman Puts John Fox and Ryan Pace on Notice

A little bit of pressure is long overdue for the Chicago Bears.

It's been a while since the Bears were competitive, and John Fox and Ryan Pace were brought in to fix that problem a few years ago. Since 2015, the pair has done little to fix Chicago's woes in the win column.

As a result, Bears Chairman George McCaskey has put the pair on notice, and it's unlikely the two will have jobs next year if progress isn't made.

When asked about the future of the franchise, McCaskey said he had confidence in Fox and Pace, but that lasting success should be the goal. He praised Pace's additions through the draft, including Leonard Floyd and Cody Whitehair.

It's not really a hard problem to solve in Chicago. They have a lot of pieces around their team, but it all comes down to quarterback play. If Mike Glennon doesn't play well, then the Bears will probably move on next season with a great core and a new coach-GM-QB trio.

That's the beauty of signing Glennon to what is essentially a one-year deal. Glennon has plenty of upside, but can be given the ax in favor of a rookie if necessary. That gives the Bears, Fox, and Pace plenty of flexibility going forward.

Hopefully they don't blow it with the third pick this year.   :doah:
