DNR Classes?

Now there's more hoopla about these classes from the blathering anti-gun idjits.....this isn't anything new!!! In the 60's, before a kid could go hunting, you HAD to take a class from the local Game Warden (That's what we called it back then)
You received a gun safety certificate and patch, as I recall. I remember taking it. It was just the norm, and every kid did it. I don't remember ANY kid shooting themselves or others accidentally with a gun back then...'course, we didn't sit in the house on our azzes playing tooty-frooty video games, either......

I took those classes too. It was an honor and something we looked forward to.  A right of passage...  We were very proud of the accomplishment too.

I took the class in 1959,Still got the patch,Just found it while cleaning out an liightening the load for a move we expect in the next few years

 I think I received my certificate in 1969 or 70. One of my instructors from then still lives across the road from me.

 By the way, the high school kids in the clay target league last Spring shot 8.2 MILLION targets without a single injury. Good job kids and coaches.

arent these classes called gun saftey courses?????????? i took it too, sent my kids thru it and even a couple grandkids. even sent the kids thru a snowmobile course.

i also remember the number on that certificate became your drivers license number. then they decided to change or give you a new DL number, man what a pain in da azz that was. when it came to getting my hunting and fishing license. had to make a few calls up to camp ripley to get it fixed!!!

Only time I buy taters Rebs is from around now until I start digging the new ones in about 8 weeks. I still gave some that are good yet, but running low. Not mention nothing beats the taste of those first baby spuds dug for ge year. A meal all its own! If you grew up on home grown you would get it. Not to mention I know mine are free from any chemicals, unlike the ones you buy in the store
