Now that it's just about Summer, I know that a lot of vehicles get that "stinky sock" smell after running the AC and starting it up the next day. This is caused by the moisture left behind in the condenser coil/evap unit. You can buy some aerosol spray that you hook up to your line and it basically disinfects/deodorizes the housing, or you can spray Lysol on the exterior AC intake vents with system running on high.. I find a far easier way is to just dry it out.....before you park, or that least mile before you get home, shut the AC off, and turn fan on High. I also hit the "outside air button" (so system isn't recirculating cabin air) then throw the heat switch to High. About a minute of this, and the AC unit will have dried out any moisture. No moisture, no breeding ground for bacteria.  Works for me.  ;)

:rotflmao: :rotflmao:  I never said I was over unionized Reb, but still that's funny!!!  I have been on both sides.  owned a business for 13 years.  job security was big for me!!!  and it saved us when the wife busted up her back!!  I would have been broke if I had still owned that company!!!

funny how things work out some times....

How's the AC work in those campers, Barry? pretty good? Are they kinda tough to keep cool?

when we had our camper it wasn't tough at all. When we first turned it on we had a couple windows/ cents open to push the hot air out. After that was pretty easy to keep cool.

I never did mention that the info was specific to cars/trucks. Campers don't have that AC prob, because the unit is mounted on top in the air, and drains straight down. A car or truck AC unit is in the middle of a hot engine compartment, and it's the warmth that makes the mold grow and causes the stink. Won't happen on an exterior mounted unit.  ;)
