If any of our members are going shooting tomorrow, I'll be there at 10:00 with some of the guys I'll be deer hunting with this fall.  If you're there around 10, be sure to introduce yourself.  I'll be shooting a Model 99 Savage and a couple bolt guns among other things.  Always nice to put a face to a name.

:happy1:We figured it ought to be quiet at the range today with everyone out chasing small game and bow hunting. 'Gonna run some ammo through the AR's and the guys get a little testy when they get sprayed with the brass.

When I lived in Stillwater up until about 18 years ago a couple of buddies and I used to go to the Oakdale gun club and shoot clay pigeons.  Had a great time there.  The people that ran it were always very friendly.

We got everything sighted in.  I shot in the AR (scoped) at 50 yards and moved up  to 100 yards.  I went to set the case down in the corner, and that's when I realized I didn't have the case zipped all the way.  Of course the gun slid out of the bottom of the case and hit with a thunk on the concrete  floor of the range shack.  It's a collapsible stock.  No damage there, but I was so frustrated, I put the gun away and didn't even shoot it at 100.  Guessing I'll have to go back down to 50 and see if it's on the target or not.  Everything else went fine.  I had picked up an old Model 70 (not pre-64) chambered for .270.  It shot about a 3/4" group with Federal Blue Box 130 gr. loads.  Everything else pretty much went where I pointed it.  Outside of the AR I'm good to go.  If I don't get a chance to shoot the AR again, I'll just pull the scope and use the open sights.  I'd only carry that on Sunday if I tagged out on Saturday any ways.
