Fellow Mn Outdoorsmen,

Man, it's being a tough winter for our members, friends, and family here.  So many medical issues, families in need, and all other forms of obstacles to just day to day life.  It's times like this where it's important to lean on each other when we need to, to not be afraid to look to others for support, in whatever form that may be.  My wife and I have been blessed with a good few months here.  Our family is all together under one roof, and all are making it through.

I extend my most sincere wishes and prayers to all who are struggling in any way here among our membership.  This is an open invite to anyone in any kind of need to contact me, and I'll do whatever I can to help out.  I can't stand to see folks I know in despair or struggling with things.  We'll help get you through these tough times, and a very fragile time of the year.

Prayers sent to all our members, friends, and family.

I have some good news, went to open wound care today and the open wound in the back of my calf that was the size of my hand is now but the size of a dime. Eight months of healing it has taken to get here. Another month and it should be good enough to stop seeing them then six months to get the skin as thick as the rest of my leg and I will be able to wade in water and not have to worry about picking up an infection. This may not sound like a big deal but is the reason I could not get in my boat and fish.

Several members here emailed me to keep my sprits up and they always seem to time it just right. Great group of guys here who go be on what a fishing board is. This board is a group and if you have been on here for ten years or ten days you are treated with open arms and understanding. For those with grief I hope sharing it helps reduce it just like sharing the good times multiplies it.

Bobby-I knew nothing about this, but I am relatively new here in the grand scheme of things.  I'm glad to hear you're healing up.  If you want to get out fishing this spring/summer, but can't handle your boat yet, please get in touch and I'll be happy to make sure you get some fishing in.  Contact me any time sir.  Good luck and continued improvement with your healing process.

Thank you all, wound care once a week to be seen by a vascular surgeon then twice a week by a home care health  nurse. Been a long eight months and I am hoping one more month will do it. Now we start a month of chemo at home and I could put it on hold but I want to get it over with, Dead of winter if I m going to feel rotten I figure this is the time of the year to do it. My goal was to have a good holiday with my kids and grandkids and I did. Who knows maybe I will get through with just mim side effects.
