PONCE INLET, Fla. - A pair of Florida fishermen got the surprise of a lifetime Saturday, March 24, when a massive great white shark decided to circle their fishing boat.

The two fishermen, Kyle Morningstar and Ian Smith, of Port Orange, Fla., happened to capture the shark circling the boat on video with their cell phones.  :happy1:

Morningstar  told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune that he and Smith were catching and releasing red snapper when the shark appeared.

"We were bottom fishing for red snapper, trigger fish," Morningstar told the Herald-Tribune.

Then, Morningstar says, he decided to pull up the anchor when he saw a bunch of remora fish dashing toward what appeared to be a "great, gray blob." Once the great, gray blob surfaced, Morningstar says he knew exactly what it was.

 :doofus: ...
"I was just in shock," Morningstar said. "When it circled a second time, I was shouting and yelling to my friend to get the phone and shoot a video."

The fisherman estimated the great white shark to be approximately 12-15 feet in length, more than half the length of their 23-foot fishing boat. :doah:

"We ran around our boat and that monster shark just circled around us, did two laps just checking us out," Morningstar said. "It was not scared." :moon:

Ponce Inlet, Fla. is located approximately 11 miles south of Daytona Beach, Fla., along the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean.
