That's social media for you.

Still, it would be pretty freaky.  It's hard to appreciate that whole they-were-here-first / only-doing-what-comes-natural / sharing-their-space thing when you ARE the dinner menu.

Doesn't surprise me,have a friend that hunts this area, stays at the only motel in longville, owner from the motel said the feds brought in trappers to thin the local pack out, said the trappers claimed they took over 50 wolves out in sept of 2017. My friend said very few deer in the area and the only tracks on logging roads were wolf tracks the last few years.

I didn't think they could do that, but then I found this article.

http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/news/4345447-federal-wolf-trapping-program-runs-out-money

Apparently the can, do, and have done for the past 10 years.

Typical G'b'mint bureaucracy.  Federal judge in December 2014 ruled wolves in the Great Lakes warranted renewed protection under the Endangered Species Act.  Then our tax dollars fund U.S. the Department of Agriculture trappers to kill wolves where there are so many of they that they kill livestock and pets.

Which is it?

The ridiculous thing is that we have hundreds - maybe thousands - of hunters who would pay for the privilege of helping to control wolf numbers.

Instead of spending money for reductions, they could be making money that could be used for habitat conservation.

Sadly many folks aren't broad minded enough to stand back and view the whole picture.

I'm guessing they know there is a problem and are just trying to handle it without getting all the Wolf huggers at Starbucks in NY and LA that only read national geographic for their info. From getting all ruffled.
