Well I just noticed on my floating dock that the connecters have a little split in them.  It is a Shoremaster Poly Dock.  I thought no big deal they are probably $50.  Think again.  It is going to cost me about $900 to replace them all!!!!!   :angry2:  I called them and told them all of my stainless bolts that are 12" long are fine so how much for just the poly board things.  The tech was nice and said he would call me back.  That was Monday.  I called back on Wed to give him my cell number to call.  He never called.  SO BUYER BEWARE with Shoremaster.  I have heard this before too but let it go in one ear and out the other.  Now it affects me too so I have a different opinion.  The tech told me it is lucky I don't live down south.  He said the ozone destroys theirs even faster.  ?????  They now use a better material.  I had no idea I would have to update these things at that great of expense when I bought it.  Too bad too, I have loved the dock until this fiasco.

I am thinking about it JB.  Or even if they gave me a deal on the parts I need in the new material and let me use my old bolts it would help.  He said I would have to drill the holes a little bigger which is no big deal.  BUT then wouldn't call me back.

I went from cedar to aluminum on top after I replace our dock...  I liked the poly but couldn't do it...
a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work!!

We have poly decking on the 2 new sections, but only 1 section gets used much. We still have cedar on the main 40' roll out section, that stuff is heavy & needs staining every couple years.

I had a dock with cedar pallets on it for over 25 years.  Never a drop of stain.   They were still good when I sold the dock, unless you have something against gray/silver wood.

Bet ours is 25-30 years old & a few of the sections are starting to show some wear, now & then. Everybody has white decking here, no gray/silver docks allowed. ;) ;D  Besides already got the stain.

We're still waiting for the dock inspector to fly in from the River Kwai.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Mine was roll in steel framed.   Those posts in the bottom of the lake would have been wiped out by the ice.
