It was my turn, second Bird down
Yesterday afternoon I went up to my land planning on hunting this morning.  I went for a walking scouting trip around 6 pm.  I stopped for a rest when I got to my shed (about 1/2 mile from my cabin).  I just sat down on the picnic table when a hen walked across the field about 50 yards away.  Now I knew where I was going to hunt this morning. I got to the shed and was setup by 5 AM.  Around 5:15 I heard gobbling to the west.  This continued past 5:30 when I saw a tom working his way up the field from the south.  Could there be two?  Yes, soon I saw the one I had heard earlier to the west as they slowly seized each other up.  They were parading around about 50-60 yards away when a hen walked right past me.  Could it get any better.   Soon they were in range.  One was a noticeable larger bird but I wasn't sure if he planned to hang around and the other one, not to shabby either, offered a great shot so I took it.  I gathered up my decoys and the dead turkey and was done by 6 AM.  I chased a third tom away as I left the field.  Cool morning for sure.  Not the biggest bird but not too bad.  Just under 20 pounds, 8 1/2 inch beard and 1 1/8 inch spurs.
