Mille Lacs 2-10-07
I have to apologize for not writting sooner but I have been busy with work and at home. I did not go up to the mille lacs during the reel cold spell so no report that week. The report for the past week is as follows. The ice conditions are great with over 21" to 26" of ice and steadily making. The roads were all the way out to the flats from most of the resorts and well marked. Now for the fishing report; I caught 12 nice eye's and 6 jumbo's in a day & 1/2 the lengths were 28",27.5",27.75",26.5",26"23.75",19",19",19",18",18"16" all were caught in 11' to 13' fow in my permanent house during the early to late night. The jumbo's I fished for were caught in 27' to 30' fow during the day out on the flat's. The fishing was slow during the day witch gave me time to use the under water camera to see what was happening in the deep water, the result were outstanding, I was able to view the jumbo's come in and swarm around the the camera and my lurer's. The nice thing about using a camera is it give you as a angler an opportunity to view the fish and how they react to different lures and baits. I will be up at Mille Lacs from 2-18-07 Thur 2-25-07 I hope you all have good luck fishing. Remember check with the resorts for fishing info and ice conditions, be safe and have fun.

Bergy,

Thanks for the report. Sounds like you had a good couple days with some really nice fish!! You spend a lot of time up there. Do you live close by?

Yes I spend a fair amount of time there and no I don't live close to Mille Lacs, I live in MPLS.

Atta boy bubba,
them is some real heavy weights ya are getting,
nice fish for sure, and now with the cooler weather moving out, ya should be able to move around a little easier.
ya going to make it all week, i've got some business this week to take care of, but i'll give ya a holler and see how it's going for ya, looks like either make it this week or the waldo's are done for the year there.
